US Immigration from Ukraine

Hi all,

I am a US citizen. I supported my old high school friend to come here on a UHP (ukrainian humanitarian parole) in 2022 when the invasion began. Long story short, we got married in January, got a baby on the way, couldn't be happier.

We filed for my wife's green card on Feb 8th but haven't received NOA yet. We saw the news today that green card applications for all people on humanitarian programs are paused indefinitely, regardless of basis.

Is anyone else in the same boat? I'm not even sure what to do at this point, just very concerned...

I did a quick search but could not find any recent topics on the matter.

A relative from Ukraine arrived on U4U parole in January 2023 and applied for TPS in February 2024 (before U4U re-parole was announced as an option). Their U4U status is expiring in January 2025 but TPS has not moved yet. We submitted I-765 with TPS pending. There was initial movement on both cases but now they seem to have gotten stuck again.

We now submitted I-131 application for re-parole on U4U (some other Ukrainians we know obtained both).

A couple of questions:

- What are the I-131 for U4U processing times these days

- If neither application is approved by the time their status expires, is proof of pending application accepted by the employer to not disrupt employment?

- What can be done to inquire about the pending TPS case? It will not allow us to submit a form online as it is within normal processing times

I would appreciate your advice.

I am the US citizen filing I-130 for my mom who is currently in the US. My dad is also in the US but I am not filing for him right now.

I have a question about the I-864 form (Affidavit of support), part 5 sponsor s household size .

Here is the situation:

Me (U.S. citizen) the petitioner

My spouse - joint tax filer

My mother I-130 beneficiary

My father - not being sponsored at this time

My parents live in my house but have separate living quarters and buy food separately. I am not sure if it matters but they are divorced and retired.

My husband and I listed my parents as dependents on our last tax return, but we're unsure if this was correct. Apparently, they cannot be claimed as dependents as their information wasn t used for tax calculations. However, their names are stated on the tax returns we submitted.

The question is: In form i-864, part 5 sponsor s household size do I need to count them as part of my household? Do I need to include both my mom and dad if I file only for my mom?

Hi folks, we've made it through all steps of the journey except citizenship. My wife and I have been married for 6 years but we'd like to wrap it up within six months if possible so there's less trouble traveling back to Europe next summer.

I filed the N-400 online today and it was relatively easy for USCIS. It's stating a projected processing time of 7 months. If it's a straightforward application, think it could be turned around and onto the next step (biometrics) quicker?
