  1. He doesn’t sound like it, he sounds like an absolute idiot. If this is your idea of a meaningful relationship then it’s an incredibly low bar and I can confidently say without knowing you that you deserve MUCH better. Somebody that you trust. Somebody that makes you laugh. Somebody that has your back, lifts you up, and that you go to first whenever you get any good news, or bad news. Somebody that wants the same things out of life as you. Somebody that respects you. Somebody that chooses you. Your first post had red flags all over it, so I’ve no idea what is ‘amazing’ and ‘wonderful’ about somebody that has said even one of those things to you, never mind all of them put together. As others have said, if my daughter came to me and said a man had said/done those things to her, I’d be advising her to get rid of him PDQ. You are better off without him.
  2. Seems to track with the quoted processings times, if they’re currently scheduling those DQ’ed in May 2024.
  3. It will be quicker but your wife should petition him as well as back up if she can afford to do so. I’d ignore what Google is telling you as it’s basing it on the wait those who are eligible for visas today have had, but it doesn’t accurately reflect how long it will take for anybody applying today as it’s not linear. For example, looking at the current Visa bulletin the date for F2B is Feb 2012, meaning those who are now eligible for visas have been waiting 13 yrs 4 months. https://travel.state.gov/content/travel/en/legal/visa-law0/visa-bulletin/2025/visa-bulletin-for-june-2025.html But if you go back 3 years to the June 2022 bulletin, you’ll see the date was October 2011, so in the past 3 years it’s only moved forward 4 months. Nobody knows what will happen in the future of course, and we don’t yet know which category your BIL will be in, but I’d assume a longer wait with the backlog growing all the time. And make sure your BIL doesn’t get married if his parents remain green card holders (there’s no category for married children of LPR’s). Good luck.
  4. This doesn't really make any sense. Did you follow the guide for your visa application? https://travel.state.gov/content/travel/en/us-visas/immigrate/the-immigrant-visa-process/step-10-prepare-for-the-interview/step-12-after-the-interview.html Step 12 sets it out pretty clearly. As said above, if you don't want to move then it's pointless pursuing this, as even if the visa is reissued it doesn't sound as though you are ready to become a permanent resident of the US and are likely to have that status taken away anyway. I do sympathise as I have a mother with Alzheimer's, but LPR status is only for those who are exactly that - resident in the US. If you don't live there permanently and don't have any ties to the US other than your wife, then at some point you'll be taken to secondary and potentially referred to an immigration judge. To avoid all that I'd just let this go, keep entering as a visitor, and then when the time is right reapply for another immigrant visa. Good luck.
  5. What kind of visa? And can you not book at all, or just that any appointments are all a long way in the future?
  6. My daughter had the same thing, she just had to go and have her photo redone as apparently it wasn't good enough quality. Her GC then arrived a couple of weeks later.
  7. If she’s a housewife then that’s exactly what you put. You can’t lie and say she’s a teacher if she hasn’t done that job for 5 years. That would be found out pretty easily and be risking a misrepresentation charge. And just put the primary reason for the visit - accompanying you on a business trip, or Disney, or whatever it is. Which country are you from?
  8. I’m guessing the ‘visa interview coaching’ company are making them up to try and get more business. It was ~75% approval rate last year. https://travel.state.gov/content/dam/visas/Statistics/Non-Immigrant-Statistics/RefusalRates/FY24.pdf
  9. I meant your timeline on your profile - if you can fill that in that would be fab. Something doesn’t sound right if you’ve been waiting so long to be DQ’ed. What does it say on CEAC?
  10. 8 months is far too long, something is definitely not right. You should have had the green card within 90 days of either entering on the visa, or paying the green card fee, whichever was later. Is ‘wife’s address’ in the US? Where are you now? You can track the GC here using the receipt number, what does that say? https://egov.uscis.gov
  11. So if they think you’d be denied for immigrant intent then how exactly do they think you could do AOS anyway?! Honestly, they sound completely clueless and I’d get rid of them personally. If they think NVC will take a year and they’re telling you to risk a lifetime ban from the US then I wouldn’t trust anything they say. I traveled backwards and forwards for business many times whilst my immigrant visa was being processed, no issue at all.
  12. The visa on it's own isn't, but the endorsed visa acts as a temp green card for a year once you've entered on it (just had to clarify for anybody reading, didn't want them thinking they have a year to enter on the visa!). When did you enter? Or pay the green card fee if that was later?
  13. You shouldn't have to pay anywhere near that amount! I set up a new phone line with Mint mobile before I moved which was $15 a month I think. It's an e-SIM, so worked the moment I landed and activated it. Now I just toggle between my two lines on my phone depending on which country I'm in.
  14. Oh, that is odd, definitely not the norm. Are you sure you submitted everything required? And haven't been DQ'ed already, have you checked your spam/junk folder? Can you fill your timeline in as well pls? Thanks.
  15. You always need to add a week or two to the quoted NVC processing times, as it does take longer for mailed in docs (rather than uploaded as most do). How long have you been waiting?
