  1. I posted a similar question recently but want to be extra sure I'm not forgetting anything. I'm flying to Spain tomorrow to see my sick mom and returning in 2 weeks given everything goes well... I'm a Spanish citizen, married to a U.S. citizen. My 2-year green card is expired, but I have the I-797 Notice of Action showing the 48-month extension. I’ll be traveling with: – Spanish passport – Expired green card – I-797 extension letter (paper + digital copy) Is there anything else I should bring or do in case I have problems reentering the U.S.? Super anxious—thanks!
  2. Hi everyone, I’m a U.S. permanent resident whose Green Card expired in 12/2024. I have the I-797 letter that extends it by 48 months, so I know I’m technically still in status. But my personal situation is devastating right now. I’ve been on medical leave from work due to major depression, and recently my mother’s chronic illness and dementia have worsened drastically. I’m overwhelmed, crying daily, and all I want is to fly home (Europe) to be with her. I know CBP doesn’t make exceptions for emotional reasons, but I’m not overstaying or abandoning my status — I just need to go for a couple of weeks and come back. Questions: 1. Will traveling with the I-797 extension letter and expired green card be enough for reentry? Realistically. 2. Does it make a difference to go through a preclearance airport like Dublin? 3. Would traveling with my U.S. citizen husband help make my case stronger in case of questioning? I’m desperate for any realistic advice. Any experience or advice would be greatly appreciated 😭
  3. Oh, but there is a comma between them... Aren't those two different things? Or is it i-751 UNDER abuse waiver, or something like that? That's why i was confused. I think (i thought?) it was a list.....
  4. I have a pending I-751 (removal of conditions) with the 48-month extension letter in hand, and I need to update my address. When I try doing it through my.uscis.gov, under "Change of address" it says (among other things): “Do not use this request to change your address if: […] You previously filed a Form I-751, Petition to Remove Conditions on Residence […] “. So… how am I supposed to report my new address then?! Anyone been through this or know what to do? Thanks
  5. not sure, actually. And because of that, I don't want to enter the wrong info
  6. Phew!! Okay... Thanks for your response. Since it says "Required information before your flight", I thought this was a must do, but I'll just do it at the airport, then (international flight) .
  7. Hey all, I need some guidance. I’m flying with American Airlines this summer and am having trouble filling out their online form. My green card says it expired on 12/12/24, but I have a valid USCIS I-797 Notice of Action extending its validity for 48 months. The problem? AA’s form doesn’t let me select a past expiration date like 12/12/24. I don’t want to get flagged at the airport for entering incorrect info, but I don’t see a way to reflect my valid status... Anyone dealt with this? How did you resolve it? Thanks.
  8. Thank you all. You guys are amazing
  9. Haha, good point! Will do, and thanks so muchhhhh!
  10. That's the plan, @OldUser. And will do, @Crazy Cat. May I inquire why, though?
  11. Yes, but I can file for N-400 ninety (90) days before my PR 3rd year anniversary, right?
  12. I've seen this is pretty standard timeline, but... What to expect now? Just wait for months? Thanks! -Packet sent: Sep. 23rd, 2024 -I-751 received: Sep. 26th, 2024 (Priority Date) Sep. 26th, 2024 (Priority Date) -Notice of Action: Oct. 10th (48-month extension letter) -Biometrics Appt. Completed: Nov. 8th & “Case Is Being Actively Reviewed By USCIS” on MyUSCIS *Service Center: NBC
  13. Hi! I was finally able to create my MyUSCIS account and saw that a biometrics appointment has been scheduled. Will they mail the appointment notice to my home? Also, how soon do they typically schedule your biometrics? I’ll be traveling internationally next month for two weeks and worry it might overlap. Thanks
