    Hard to say if this matters. It's a Tunisia specific issue. A similar situation in the Philippines used to be no problem, unless you wanted a new passport in the married name. Now, a marriage outside the Philippines must be registered through the Philippine Consulate abroad, or there is a definite problem. Unless there is a similar current issue for Tunisia, no worries. Maybe ask in the appropriate regional forum, or the situation may be mentioned in on the US Embassy for Tunisia, website.

    The idea of "extra civil documents" can simply be discarded. Those are the only two civil documents required for a child in this situation.

    Borrow if you must, but file the I-485 and all the supporting forms and documents. Do it right this time. Once filed, you might lose your ability to work, but you'll be ok to stay in the USA.

    If your current work is in the USA now, you simply show the pay stub or HR letter. If you are adjusting status, you're in the USA. The question about current income is in the present tense. So, the income you mention is already being earned in the USA. Right. Note that Adjusted Gross is not the correct number. Use Total Income. However those numbers are often the same.

    Apply for the passport the same as you would if your child was born in the USA. The visa and entry stamp are the evidence of Citizenship needed along with birth certificate and translation, if needed, would be the evidence of Citizenship.

    First thing that comes to mind is that this is the natural child of a US Citizen who could not pass citizenship at birth. In this case, once the child enters the USA using an IR2 visa, to reside with the US Citizen parent, they are immediately a US Citizen. That's a case that would exempt the IR2 child. Is that the situation?

    First, this is not a visa case. It's no case at all, because the US Citizen has taken no action. The illegal alien posting the question has no path to a green card, without a qualified sponsor. Unlawful work is forgiven in these cases, but claiming to be a US Citizen is not. Lawyer time, and be prepared for the best advice to be self deportation.

    Then my advice is to get that tax return filed. Your current income is the "Total Income " number. Same for that section where you enter tax return information. Yes, this may delay your I-864, but the cause is your lack of preparation.

    If you are a landlord with rental income, you are both employed and self employed. You must state your "current income" by entering the number on your latest tax return labeled "total income". In many cases, landlords' current income is reduced by their expense and depreciation deductions. You BE both, but you cannot have it both ways.

    The bold above is incorrect. Quite wrong for a self employed person. For the self employed, "current income" is the number on the "total income" line of the latest federal tax return. For the employed, it's the gross for a full pay period, times the number of pay periods in a year. In some cases that might be what is expected for 2025, but not in all cases. Nowhere in the instructions is "expected in the current calendar year" mentioned. It's not current year income. It's current income. The OP's question cannot be properly answered without knowing whether they are employed or self employed.

    Are you employed or self employed. If employed, the answer to your question is different than if you are self employed. In general though, the year you sponsor an immigrant is not a good time to file for an extension.

    List current step children. Step children from a former marriage are no longer step children. This is because of a change in the form. I did not check all versions in between 2013 and now, but the 2013 version says does not mention step children. At some point this changed, but you would not list former step children.

    You can enter your PO box as your mailing address, and your son's address as your physical address. Yes, USCIS will mail to a PO Box.
